Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Shopchat (the “App”), operated by Futurebits. By installing or using Shopchat on a Shopify store, you agree to these Terms. If you are installing for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

The service

Shopchat provides an AI-assisted storefront chat experience, product recommendations grounded in the merchant’s catalog, merchant configuration tools, a knowledge base, conversation inbox, and human handoff workflows. The App integrates with Shopify using catalog scopes (read_products, write_products, read_product_listings, write_product_listings, read_product_feeds, and write_product_feeds) so it can read and write product, listing, and feed data that powers storefront chat recommendations and retrieval. It does not request customer, order, or payment scopes.

Features may change as we iterate. Early or internship-stage builds may be limited, demo-oriented, or unavailable in some regions.

Your Shopify account and responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining a valid Shopify store and authorizing the App
• Accuracy of product data, knowledge-base content, and agent settings you configure
• How you use shopper conversations and handoff contact details (name, email, phone) collected through the chat
• Complying with Shopify’s terms, applicable privacy and consumer laws, and your own storefront privacy notices
• Not using the App for unlawful, abusive, or misleading purposes

AI-generated content

Chat replies are generated with automated systems and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Merchants should review critical policies (shipping, returns, warranties, medical or legal claims) in their knowledge base and not rely solely on AI output. Shopchat does not replace professional advice.

Data and privacy

Our handling of merchant and shopper data is described in the Privacy Policy. That includes Shopify product data, conversation content, and handoff PII, as well as high-level compliance with Shopify GDPR webhooks (customer data request, customer redact, and shop redact).

Third-party services

The App depends on Shopify and may use third-party hosting and AI providers. Your use of Shopify remains subject to Shopify’s agreements. Outages or changes at those providers can affect Shopchat.

Fees

Unless we separately agree in writing, current access may be provided without charge for evaluation or early use. We may introduce paid plans later; if we do, we will communicate pricing before charging.

Intellectual property

Futurebits and its licensors own the App software, branding, and related materials. Merchants retain ownership of their product content, knowledge-base materials, and store branding. You grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the App.

Disclaimer of warranties

Shopchat is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Futurebits disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that AI outputs will meet your expectations.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Futurebits will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from use of the App. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the App will not exceed the amounts you paid us for Shopchat in the twelve months before the claim (or USD $0 if the App was provided free).

Suspension and termination

You may uninstall Shopchat from Shopify at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, misuse the App, or if we discontinue the service. After uninstall, Shopify privacy webhooks may trigger deletion of store data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for that use.
